The Recipe Organizer ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application (the "App") available on iOS and Android.
By using the App you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you create an account or use the App:
- Account information — your email address, and optionally your first and last name, which you provide when you register.
- Recipe data — URLs and recipe content you import, including the parsed ingredients, steps, nutritional information, and any tags or notes you add.
- Usage information — how you interact with the App, such as which features you use and how often. This data is used only to improve the App and is not sold.
- Device information — device type, operating system version, and a unique device identifier, collected automatically by third-party services described below.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Store and sync your saved recipes
- Provide password reset functionality via email
- Improve and debug the App
- Display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob (described below)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Advertising — Google AdMob
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use certain information from your device, including your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android), IP address, and device information, to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
On iOS devices, we will request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before allowing AdMob to use your advertising identifier for personalized ads. You may opt out at any time in your device's Privacy settings.

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Supabase — our database and backend infrastructure provider. Your account information and recipe data are stored on Supabase's servers. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — used to send transactional emails such as password reset messages. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — advertising platform. See the section above for details.
Data Retention
We retain your account information and recipe data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and all associated recipe data will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information via your in-app profile settings
- Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below
- Opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's privacy settings
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
